What You’ll Do
As our Catering Operational Team Leader, you’ll take a leading role in the smooth running of our daily catering operation, including:
Food Production & Service
- Prepare, cook, bake and present high-quality food efficiently for day visitors and residential guests
- Produce meals for residential students and groups
- Create beverages using our barista coffee machine
- Serve food, engage with customers and ensure a warm, friendly experience
Operational Leadership
- Supervise, train and support catering team members
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety
- Maintain manual and digital food hygiene, due-diligence and administrative records
- Assist with menu development for outlets and in-house events
- Order stock from regular suppliers and manage kitchen resources effectively
Customer Experience
- Ensure every visitor receives excellent service
- Promote a positive, can-do attitude within the team
- Support colleagues across multiple outlets as needed

Working Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Usual hours: 9am–5pm on a rota including weekends
- Some shifts may include early starts or later finishes to support with the evening meals for residential programmes

Job Title: Residential Coordinator – Practical Skills & Outdoor Learning
Job Type: Part time. Term Time (39 weeks per year), 45 hours per week.
Salary: £30,000 pro rata
Role Overview:
The Residential Coordinator will support and deliver a hands-on residential programme for school-aged children, focusing on practical life skills, outdoor learning, and farm-based activities. The role is highly practical and outdoors focused, working with a range of animals and delivering engaging demonstrations to groups of children in a residential setting.
This position is primarily term-time, with the option to work occasional weekends to support residential programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist with farm-based activities involving animals including cows, goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, and guinea pigs
- Deliver engaging demonstrations and workshops for groups of children, including:
- Planting and basic horticulture
- Hatching eggs and animal life cycles
- Making bird boxes and simple practical projects
- Ensure the welfare, safety, and appropriate handling of animals always
- Facilitate and support practical skills sessions as part of the school residential programme during outdoor and practical activities
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants
- Assist with general upkeep of outdoor and farm areas as required
- Operate farm machinery such as a tractor and trailer (where trained and authorised)
- Follow all health, safety, and safeguarding procedures
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Enjoys working outdoors in all weathers
- Confident working with children in group settings
- Practical, hands-on approach to learning and activities
- Enthusiastic and engaging approach to learning with a fun attitude
- Able to drive a tractor and trailer, or willing to be trained
- Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work occasional weekends
Desirable:
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Interest in farming, outdoor education, sports, or camping
- Previous experience in residential, outdoor learning, farm, or education settings
Working Pattern:
- Term-time
- 45 hours per week
- Occasional weekend work required by arrangement
Salary:
- £30,000 per annum, pro rata for part‑time hours
