Residential Visits

Farm stays for schools and groups

As a working farm, we are able to provide year round baby animals for our full educational programme. Children will obtain a clear idea of where their food comes from and our experienced team will ensure you get the most from your visit.

Rand Farm Park offers farm stay holidays for schools and groups all year round, with a purpose built dormitory sleeping up to 32 children and 5 staff, a restaurant adjacent to the dormitory and new for 2015, a bigger and better onsite classroom.

The aim of Rand Farm Park Residential Courses is that children will hopefully gain a better understanding of farm life, why people continue to do it, where their food comes from as well as the effect upon our environment.

Residential Programmes

 Tractor School Residential

What is a residential programme?

All residential programmes are individually tailored on the farm. Whilst linked with the National Curriculum and delivered by our educational team, the activities are flexible enough to meet schools individual requirements.

Our courses provide additional “hidden extras” that prove to be the greatest benefits such as team building, staying away from home in a safe environment and important social skills.

Daily Activities

With year round baby animals, children can bottle feed lambs or calves, hold new-born chicks, watch our dairy cows being milked or hand feed the many more animals in the farmyard.

Bringing back skills from days gone by, children can make butter in the buttery or spin wool on the yarn. And to make children more green fingered, we have a vegetable patch especially for our residential groups.

Off-site Visits

In addition to time spent at Rand Farm Park there are also external visits to other local farms and food producers, who specialise in their own particular type of farming, such as dairy, cheese making, etc.

Evenings

During the evenings, activities are also planned and vary from ice-cream talks and tasting (always a favourite with the children), countryside nature walks, swimming, archery and more, with plenty of recreational time at the end of a busy day to wind down and enjoy all the activities and facilities at Rand Farm Park.
