As a working farm, we are able to provide year round baby animals for our full educational programme. Children will obtain a clear idea of where their food comes from and our experienced team will ensure you get the most from your visit.
To help you get started, we have produced a free Learning Pack. To obtain your free copy, please request this using the below ‘Obtain an E-Brochure’ form.
Meet our Farm Animals
On arrival, you will receive a timetable with all the daily activities including lamb or calf bottle-feeding, rabbit and guinea pig handling sessions, as well as plenty of baby animals to see.
For all schools we provide free bags of animal feed and all schools can board our tractor and trailer ride to look at animals outside in the paddocks (weather permitting).
In our chick hatchery, pupils can see the full egg to chick lifecycle, with plenty of interpretation to ensure the topic is brought to life.
We offer visiting schools a reduced fee for our “Incubators in Schools Scheme” if it’s booked as part of a day/residential visit.
Make butter and milk cows
We go beyond baby animals at Rand Farm Park. Children can watch cows being milked in the dairy, see how butter is made in the buttery and watch sheep shearing or spinning (when in season).
Plenty of Hand washing & Picnic Areas
We actively embrace the Farm Code of Practice and offer plenty of hand washing facilities across the farm to meet strict up-to-date hygiene regulations.
In addition, we offer schools inside and undercover areas for lunch.
Complying with DDA regulations, we have wide doorways, ramps and disabled facilities.
Indoor & Outdoor Play
As part of your visit, you are invited to use our indoor and outdoor play areas. From our 3 level play frame and the Astra slide to the outdoor Go Kart track, all comply with EEC safety standards.
